Reckoner Privacy statement
Privacy Policy for ReckonerLast updated: 05/09/2026The short versionReckoner has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. Your lists are stored on your device and, if you have iCloud turned on, synced through your own iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. That sync is between you and Apple. The developer has no access to it and no way to read your lists. What Reckoner storesEverything you put into the app: list and sub-list names and how you have arranged them; items and any of their optional fields you use, including description and log entries, dates, numbers, ratings, subtext and tags; and your settings, such as sort order, which lists are archived, and whether a list shows checkboxes or totals.Reckoner does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and has no sign-up or login of its own.Where it is storedOn your device, in the app's own storage. In your iCloud account, if iCloud is enabled for Reckoner. Sync uses Apple's CloudKit in what Apple calls a private database — a container tied to your Apple Account. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy govern that storage. The developer cannot browse, download or read the contents of a private database. There is no admin panel and no copy of your data anywhere else.To turn sync off, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and switch Reckoner off in the list of apps using iCloud. Reckoner keeps working; it simply stops syncing. There is currently no switch for this inside the app itself. What leaves the app, and only when you chooseExport writes a JSON file, and Share as Text produces plain text. Both hand the result to the system share sheet, so wherever you send it — Files, Messages, another app — is your choice, and what happens to it afterwards is governed by wherever it lands.Import reads a file you pick. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. What the developer collectsNothing. There are no analytics, no crash-reporting services, no advertising, no tracking identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind in the app. No data is sold or shared, because none is received in the first place. If you have opted in to sharing analytics and crash reports with developers, in Settings under Privacy & Security, Apple may pass on crash logs and aggregate usage figures. That is Apple's mechanism, it is off unless you turned it on, and it does not include the contents of your lists.Children's privacyReckoner is a general-purpose list app. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.Your dataOn a device, deleting the app removes its local copy.To remove the synced copy, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, then manage your account storage, find Reckoner and delete its data. That removes it from your account and from every device signed into it.Because the developer holds no copy, there is nothing to request deletion of and no account to close.Changes to this policyIf the app changes in a way that affects any of the above, this policy will be updated and the date at the top will change.ContactQuestions about this policy can be directed to: [email protected]
